The Rose

The Compass Rose was built in 1999 in the traditional Bermudan style common to the Caribbean. The salt rakers of olden days on Salt Cay opened their homes to the trade winds to cool their homes.

The Rose is a one bedroom, one bath home that also sports an outdoor shower. The home sleeps 4 utilizing a sofa bed in the living area and a large alcove bedroom. Enjoy the modern conveniences of home, including one of the best equipped kitchens on island, Weber grill, complete home entertainment system with DVD, VCR, stereo, CD changer and great speakers. Maid service is provided once a week during your stay.

You can watch the sun set each evening from the elevated observation deck affording a view of the islands and the stars. Watch for a green flash when the sun sets on a clear horizon. Picnic on the beach just below the house. Enjoy the newly completed screened porch with wicker furnishings and dining room table. The cottage is located on a rise above the beach with a spectacular view of the eastern, western and southern shores. The Rose is not a beach front property, but affords spectacular island and coastal views.
